Farm Happenings for November 18 and 20, 2020

Bagging broccoli for mid-November deliveries!

This week's offerings:  Cranberries, for those who are getting them, come from Brian Reusch's Ruesch Century Farm, which claims to be the world's smallest organic cranberry bog, located in central Wisconsin.  Other items include brussels sprouts, squash, onions, sweet potatoes, potatoes, broccoli, and carrots, with smaller quantities of kale, lettuce or spinach, rutabagas, radishes, turnips, parsnips and cabbage also available. Remember that if you are not totally happy with your suggested list of contents, feel free to amend with the list of available items through the Harvie extras.  There are quite a few this week! (That would include eggs, which would need to be purchased separately for this Thanksgiving share, as the regular egg shares finished up with last week's final delivery.) The fresh greens may not last until next week's Thanksgiving meal, but the rest of the items will!

December storage share: Three weeks after this week's share we will have the final storage share, with a bit more of the mainly storage items that should last you several weeks, if not more, into the winter season.  That can be ordered up to a week before the actual delivery date (of Wednesday, Dec. 9th & Friday, Dec. 11th).

On the farm: We are planting next season's garlic, seeding the last of the cover crops, as well as harvesting the final crops from the fields, along with putting away irrigation equipment, etc. We usually stay quite busy till early December, then look forward to a well-deserved rest!  Several of our greenhouses, tractors, and buildings all need some attention as well, to make sure they can function for us well into the future!

Thanks again for your support this season!  Shortly we let you know of the renewal process for 2021!

Regards, and happy holidays, to all!
