Farm Happenings for September 18, 2020

Josh Harvey loading truck in preparation for his Wednesday route

Fall season upon us!  Cooler temperatures, and shorter days, and we find the summer crops winding down, including the melons, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.  and in their place we will have more root crops (potatoes, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes), and brassicas (cabbages, broccoli, brussels sprouts, etc.). Some greens will continue, and in fact the kale, and hopefully soon spinach, will arrive again, as they thrive and have better flavor during the cooler fall months.

Some reminders: If you might look to change a delivery, since you may need to be out of town, you can go ahead and make such a change yourself by going into your Harvie account, and choosing the appropriate commands.  Keep in mind, though, that you need to make such changes at least four days before your delivery date, if at all possible, since your name for your label, and your list of contents, is already being generated four days before your actual delivery date.  If not successful with planning that far ahead of time, you could send us an email closer to the delivery date, but it sometimes is just not as feasible for us to accommodate such last minute requests.  Thanks!

Have a good week!
