Veggie Love and Hope from Sol Sister Farm :)

Posted on June 11th, 2020 by Matt Johnson

Hey there Sol Sisters,

This week marks our second week of the CSA and the first delivery for many of our biweekly members!! Sol Sister Farm has been buzzing with energy as the farm continues to grow and develop. Following last week's grieving and mourning, we have felt a shift to hope and revolution. And while we must acknowledge our privileged/safe perspective and our hearts remain heavy, we see our community coming together through to both resistance and creation. We believe Sol Sister can be an example of resilience through love and food. On Wednesday Matt and Em trekked fresh veggie boxes out to Oakland to contribute to Food Not Bombs (http://foodnotbombs.net/new_site/), made possible through beautiful Sol Sister connections. <3

Additionally, our farm family has grown with the help of fellow yogi and green thumb Jeromy T., who has aided in trellising our cherry and heirloom tomato plants, raking compost, weeding, painting the packing shed, etc. With the help of Jeromy and others, the farm space and our vegetables are are flourishing...watermelons and tomatoes are staring to fruit and a baby carrot made her first appearance!

This week, you will have many options like beets, turnips, kale, squash, herbs and other greens. We cannot wait to see you for pick up on Saturday! We thank and appreciate you for your support.

Lots of love,

Matt and Em
