Challenge upon Challenge..Week #3

Posted on August 25th, 2020 by Cale Sprister

Good Lord what a growing season it has been!

So hot and so dry the entire way through!

To be honest with you all I am in panic mode right now.  September has really snuck up on me.  The hot temps have lulled me into thinking I have more time and I delayed some planting longer than what I wanted too.  I am in the process of turning every bed I can into varieties of greens, radish, and carrots.

I am really hoping many crops will keep going strong as others mature.  I have a few really good looking beds of Napa cabbage and beets, but some of the other crops are struggling especially the greens.

The tomatoes and some peppers are also struggling and I am trying to determine if it's a nutrient deficiency or just the incredible heat that won't seem to subside. Farming in COlorado is tough sometimes!

Hang with me for a wild fall ride and pray, pray, pray for rain, cooler temps, and good germination!

See you in September!
