Farm Happenings for March 25, 2020: Final Week of the Winter Season!

Posted on March 20th, 2020 by Robinette Farms

I will see you all at Myers this evening! I will have hand sanitizer, disposable gloves, face masks, and disinfectant wipes available for your use if you so desire.

Please practice 6 feet of social distancing at pick up tonight!

If you would like to receive your share via Home Delivery tomorrow (Thursday 3/26) you can still fill out this google form until midnight today, Wednesday 3/25.

Thanks everyone!

It was officially SPRING on March 19th, and with all that is going on right now with the coronavirus it feels refreshing to have an 'official' change of seasons to help add structure to my life in this world of daily changes.

I hope you all are hanging in there as our daily lives have been so disrupted in the last 2 weeks. It seems as though it may be this way for a while and I wanted to let you know that we are here for you!

We will continue on as usual at Robinette, full steam ahead, feeding our community and growing food with the utmost care.

We have a few things that we are working on at the moment to keep the healthy nutritious food headed to you in the safest, most efficient way possible:

  • We are working on refining a Home Delivery option for our Spring Salad Subscription (CSA) and if you haven't signed up yet, here is the LINK. If you have already signed up and want to change to Home Delivery, just email us at farmers@robinettefarms.com and we can switch it for you!
  • We will be letting you know soon about a Pop Up Farm Stand we will be offering the weeks of 3/30 and 4/6 (the 2 weeks in between Winter and Spring seasons). Stay tuned for a separate email about that!
  • We will also be working with other local producers to try to get as much local produce and local products in to your hands through our programs! We want to help support local business as much as possible right now, as many small businesses are struggling with storefront closings or having to shut down the majority of their operations. We want our local community to stay strong! Please support local if you can!
  • We are still donating produce and want to say a big THANK YOU to a few folks who purchased $10 Share the Bounty shares this week! We take these donations and match the value and donate produce to those who need it. Now more than ever there are many Lincolnites who need access to fresh food!
  • Lastly, with kids home from school and everyone feeling cooped up, we would like to make our farm available as a place for friends of Robinette (with or without kids!) to come for a walk, to explore, or just to get out of town for fresh air. If you would like to come out to the farm, please email us and we will set it up with you! We will also keep you updated on how you can make an appointment on our website to come out to the farm as we work on getting that set up.

Thank you all for supporting us and each other during these unknown times! As we all are physically distancing ourselves from each other, I hope that our sense of community, our desire to help those in need, and our compassion for one another can bring us closer than ever.

The sun is shining! Get outside! (Turn the news off!)
