Farm Happenings for May 8, 2019: Week 6 out of 8!

Posted on May 3rd, 2019 by Robinette Farms

We finally planted our potatoes this week! For some reason this was a planting that got away from our early spring list this year, but it sure feels good to get it crossed off the list. Pictured above is Erika, our Greenhouse and Wash Station Lead and Farm Crew Member of 3 years!

Happy May!

This is the month where the farm kicks it into full gear.

If you have ever had your own garden you know what I'm talking about! The plants seem to grow right before your eyes, and right along with the plants are the weeds...

This month is a very big planting month on the farm. We continue to plant out lots of spring successions of goodies like head lettuce, kohlrabi, herbs, napa cabbage, radishes, beets, carrots, and turnips, and then by the end of the month we are planting our outdoor peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, summer and winter squash, sweet potatoes, melons and more!

To celebrate this change in the season we will be hosting a 'Roots & Shoots' Dinner on The Farm on Saturday, May 18th!

This is a small ticketed event with 3 courses in 3 locations on the farm prepared by Chef Renee from Prairie Plate Restaurant. Plus, each course is paired with a wine from Glacial Till Winery!

There are only 30 spots for our first event and tickets are $50 each.

This is a teaser for you to mark your calendars if you are interested - you'll be getting a separate email from us soon with the link to register for the event!

Have a wonderful week!
