Welcome to Fall CSA for all of our new Members and bi-weekly Members!
It's definitely feeling like fall out there and the crew has been busy harvesting all of the fall and winter storage crops in between rains. Alex and our neighbor Curt are finalizing the electrical in our second walk-in cooler and it's perfect timing for all the harvesting happening right now.
The rain has been a real pain this year and while I hate to complain about free irrigation it was too much this year! Alex was telling me yesterday that we are above our 2 and 5 year rainfall averages and we have received over 33 inches of rain this year! It seems like every single harvest was a muddy mess and the crew are the heroes of the farm for slogging through it over and over again.
We are super excited to be working with Mat and Jodi at Myers Sharpening & Tamayta Spice for our market style CSA pick up! Their space is super cool and if you don't pick up there, be sure to stop by sometime and check out their spice collection, specialty cooking utensils, a full line of knives, essential oils, vinegar, olive oils, pasta makers...as well as get just about anything sharpened! Plus they have a rewards program - just ask!
