Thursday July 4th Pick Up RESCHEDULED
If you were scheduled to pick up your share on Thursday, July 4th your delivery is now rescheduled to Tuesday, July 2nd at your regularly listed time.
Will you be out of town? Here’s how to reschedule your share for that week!
It’s officially SUMMER!
Each week our Farm Production Manager, Kasey, and I do a walk around the farm to look at each crop and each field to assess what is ready to harvest, what needs weeded, what fields need preparation, what crops have insect or disease pressure, and so on.
This week, at the peak of sunlight for the year, we saw dramatic differences in crop size and sadly, the size of the weeds! This is the time of year when crops quickly mature right before your eyes and some weeds literally grow an inch each day. Combine that with all the moisture we have been getting and it’s a jungle out there!
It dried out enough this week that we were able to get the last of our watermelons planted for the season and save our next round of carrots from the weeds. We forge on and we are excited to see the first zucchini and cucumbers on the plants, which means it won’t be long until we are eating those with every meal.
Enjoy the share this week!
