Farm Happening Week 22

Posted on November 1st, 2022 by Anna Bunk

Hello Farmshare Members,

Wow, it's been another great farmshare season! THANK YOU for your support and for entrusting us with growing your food!

We have reached week 22 of the farmshare, this will be the final delivery for Wednesday and Thursday members.

Monday members, your final delivery will be NEXT week on Monday 10/14

We will miss packing your weekly boxes! It is a joy to fill your farmshares, we love thinking of the food we have worked hard to grow, care for and harvest arriving at your table. There will be lots of fall flavors in this week's box- squash, potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and carrots to name a few.

In addition to all the usual harvesting, the farm crew has been spending the past week preparing to plant garlic. This means "popping cloves", breaking apart a garlic head into single cloves to be planted. We save some of our own seed pieces along with buying in seed garlic from the good folks at Filaree Garlic Farm in Omak, WA and our friends at Channing Farm in Twisp, WA. This feels like an auspicious task for the final week of the farmshare. Garlic is a crop we grow primarily for our farmshare members. Planted in the late fall, we will harvest it in the late summer of next year. It feels good to be planting for next season's farmshare as we pack the final boxes of this season's share. And your support makes it all possible!

Please stay tuned for an email regarding 2023 Farmshare sign up. We have made the decision to switch to a new farmshare management platform and will not be using Harvie next season. Your farmshares will continue to be customizable on the new platform.

We will be sending out an email next week with information regarding the new platform and signing up for next season.

Enjoy!

With Gratitude,

The River Run Farm Team
