Farm Happenings for August 24, 2021

Greetings! 

Our onions and shallots have begun their curing process. First step: pull and lay out in windrows in the field. Done. Next we consolidate the garlic in the drying shed (our greenhouse covered in shade cloth) and lay out the onions to cure. Our hope is that the onions finish up curing before its time to bring the winter squash in!
In other news, did you know you can activate your detoxification and anti-inflammatory genes by eating raw brassicas (i.e. kale salads, cabbage and kohlrabi slaws, radish, turnips, sauerkraut)?
