Eggplants R Us

Posted on May 31st, 2021
My number one summer crop: Eggplants. They are showing up in full force for the start of the Extension (or should I say Eggstension?) Season. We've got a fun variety for y'all to try - long and skinny, short and skinny, traditional Italian fatties. I've been really into roasting the Japanese eggpla1 read more »

Welcome to Summer

Posted on May 28th, 2021
Welcome to our 3-week Extended Spring season before our summer break! It's really starting to heat up at the farm, and there's a lot of stuff out there that's just soaking it up. The next few weeks at the farm will be spent harvesting and prepping for our summer break with cover crop seeding and sw1 read more »

Season Extension Starts Next Week

Posted on May 24th, 2021
Believe it or not, we've reached the end of our originally scheduled 19-week Spring Season Farm Share. We're grateful to you all for being a part of this very soggy few months! And just as the weather is (just barely) starting to feel like actual New Orleans summer, we're starting to pull in more a1 read more »

Last Week before Extended Season

Posted on May 21st, 2021
It's been a long, soggy, muddy Spring season, and it's hard to believe that we've made it to the last week of the original share! Blueberries Make Everything Better

The relatively cool weather has extended our shoulder season so we're still harvesting a variety of beautiful salad and cooking greens while f1 read more »

Blueberries Now, Garlic Later

Posted on May 14th, 2021
We harvested our garlic this week and it's currently all hanging up at the farm. There's been so much rain recently, we were worried there'd be a lot of rot, but so far the bulbs are looking really good. We're excited to be able to put it into shares, but we'll have to wait a little longer until th1 read more »

Swamp Harvests and Season Extensions

Posted on May 10th, 2021
The amount of rain we've been getting is starting to feel a bit ridiculous. We're harvesting ankle deep in puddles, catching harvest buckets before they float away, and taking regular unwelcome breaks to shelter from lightning. It's not ideal, but we're going to keep it up for an additional 3 weeks1 read more »

Season Extension

Posted on May 7th, 2021
We're looking forward to a great share next week. Rockstar lettuce, a smattering of summer crops (including some cherry tomatoes from Faust Farm), bunching greens, roots, lots of herbs including basil, Compostella arugula, and more. We restocked the Powers honey because y'all bought us out of the f1 read more »
