Swamp Harvests and Season Extensions

Posted on May 10th, 2021 by Annie Moore

The amount of rain we've been getting is starting to feel a bit ridiculous. We're harvesting ankle deep in puddles, catching harvest buckets before they float away, and taking regular unwelcome breaks to shelter from lightning. It's not ideal, but we're going to keep it up for an additional 3 weeks in June too! We're adding three weeks to our Spring Share, to ensure that you all get to enjoy the summer crops that, despite the deluges, we're expecting to start coming in in earnest very soon. Hopefully this crazy weather comes to an end soon.

With that said, you've already started getting a taste of summer and more and more crops like eggplants, okra, and peppers are trickling in each harvest. Right now, the story of the season is amazing lettuce, which we're doing as whole heads and beautiful cut mixes this week. Compostella arugula is back as well. No tofu this week (the makers took Mother's Day off), but local eggs, mushrooms, honey, pickles and jams are all available in the extras section.

Stay dry and enjoy!
