We Survived

Posted on February 22nd, 2021 by Annie Moore

Well, it seems like we finally got past the winter weather, but not before freezing temperatures made all of our lives somewhat miserable last week. Thankfully, we don't seem to have lost too much at the farm, but the weather slowed everything way way down and it will take a little while to catch up.

Due to the freeze, the share looks a bit different this week. Compostella isn't harvesting any baby greens this week, so we're filling in with a variety of other cooking greens and some salad mixes from our Kentucky St farm. We have beautiful brussel sprouts and cherry tomatoes from Faust Farm on the north shore, plus Compostella's carrots and collards. Swapping is more limited than usual given the smaller amounts of most things. Despite the challenges of the last week, though, we're pretty pleased with the quality and variety of the share and hope you'll enjoy it!

Here's to this week's warmer weather!

PS - Stay tuned for a strawberry update tomorrow. We may be able to add some pints from Faust as extras.
