Veggies for Neighbors!

Posted on October 23rd, 2020 by Annie Moore

If you've been at the Blue House to pick up a share, you may have noticed a table with an array of veggies displayed market-style. Each week we've contributed two full shares for neighbors of the Blue House to be able to enjoy some of the produce we include in our boxes. This has been funded in part by the community shares fundraising we did a couple months ago. I had a chance to chat with Ms. Fay, pictured above, this week, who told me the various ways she's been prepping the greens she's been getting from us. Sweet potato greens were a surprise hit in her household. I hope they've been enjoyed at your households as well! If you have any questions about the community boxes let us know, or if would like to contribute to more community shares, our GoFundMe is still open!

Our farm is really starting to fill out with lots of veggies these days. We've got a great selection for you this week, plus a full array of extras including a few special featured items: Jerusalem artichoke (aka sunchoke) and miso onigirazus from the Lost Line, BeetsNThyme fresh pasta, and introducing Annie's (aka my) Vegan Peashoot Pesto featuring our shoots, garlic, Compostella arugula, and local Meyer lemons. We're also very excited to include satsumas for the first time! These are from Isabelle's Citrus orchard, just down the road from our farm on the west bank.

Have a safe and healthy weekend!

PS - If you're in the neighborhood and in search of brunch tomorrow (Saturday) morning, Colin from the Lost Line will be serving up breakfast burritos and onigirazu from 9-12. Check out the menu on Insta (@thelostline) and preorder if you can!
