Dodging Hurricanes and Harvesting Greens

Posted on September 15th, 2020 by Annie Moore

Welcome to the fall farm share!

What a week to start the season. Hopefully this is the last of the hurricane threats this month. We're getting tired of dismantling and reassembling our farm on a biweekly basis. Of course, we're very lucky that we missed the last two and are thinking about our neighbors to the east and west.

As we ramp up this season, we've got a nice selection of our greens, eggplants, hot peppers, and herbs, and salad greens from Compostella Farm, our farmer friends in Mississippi. We're also adding in sweet potatoes and red potatoes from Indian Springs, who thankfully are out of the way of Sally near Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and are getting delicata squash from Faust Farms on the North Shore. Local Cooling Farm eggs and Mycelium Express mushrooms (including my favorites, lion's mane!) are available as extras this week.

We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. See you soon!
