What a storm. The weatherman wasn't even calling for rain, but the dark clouds told a different story. Thursday afternoon a wild and vicious storm cut through the farm--twisting off trees and dumping the fields and animals with heavy rain and periods of hail. By the time it was over, we have another 2" of rain (following 2+" earlier in the week). We also had trees down everywhere, no power, and stream cresting their banks and cutting through all corners of the farm.

Thankfully everyone was safe. But using the roads became practically impossible as every direction was blocked by downed trees. But this too shall pass. We certainly can't control the weather, so we do our best to roll with it. The fields are currently swampy with puddles, but the hot sunny days are doing their work to begin drying the soil again. In the meantime, we have plenty of other tasks to do.

Have a great week!
