Farm Happening (2nd DELIVERY SUMMER)

Posted on June 3rd, 2021 by Diane Riehm

Hurray! It's everyone's favorite time of the year- STRAWBERRY SEASON!

Check out Farmer Phil and his family enjoying some family time on the farm picking strawberries.

It's crucial to follow these simple steps for strawberries to last longer!

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 1/2 cup of water and squish around for about 10 seconds in the solution.
  • Rinse.
  • Air-dry for 5 minutes or dry with paper towel.
  • Store in a container lined with paper towels.

BOOM! Your strawberries may keep for 5-7 days!

Do you love asparagus but worry about it's shorter shelf life?

It's a no-brainer when you store them in a vase with ONLY a half inch of water.

Fits well on the refrigerator door.

Now that you have better control over the foods you put into your body and some storage tips to make life a little easier, let's talk about a way that YOU can give back to the community.

Ever want to help the people around you and not sure what to do?

Everyone needs healthy foods in their diet, but some folks have limited access to it.

DONATE NOW $25 or more towards a 2021 Summer Weekly Veggie Box Share!

Donations will go directly to impoverished people for fresh vegetables weekly.

Read about the mom who followed up with us to tell us how appreciative her family is and how they LOVE their 1st bag already.

* As a single mom of 3 children Elaine puts her heart into her work with disabled clients at Kan-Du Studio. She has already expressed to us that she will be sharing with them if they are in need of fresh and healthy produce.

Catch up on the second family donation next week...to be continued.
