Farm Happenings for October 2, 2021

Posted on September 29th, 2021 by Ben Sayler

Greetings from the farm! Sorry we haven't been more in touch in touch with the emails and farm updates. It has been super busy and we luckily found two new FULL TIME helpers this week! They are both great people, have pride in what we do, and have an excellent work ethic. Feel very fortunate to find good people in the very competitive field of trying to hire people these days. Find it odd that unemployment is so high, yet ourselves and so many other businesses are looking for more help.

Lots of new items on the menu this week. My favorite plums and apples are in season, Ruby Queen and Crimson Crisp! Love this time of year with temps are cooling off, things are settling down, and the best of fall produce is coming in. We also have lots of collards, head lettuce, cabbage, and swiss chard. The salad mix went to seed and the spinach is a fight against insect and disease, but we hope to have them available soon (some available by swapping or adding to your share). We also scored some green beans from scenic view orchard. They always have top quality beans and glad that we could get some for you. Broccoli and Cauliflower coming soon.

On top of all the great veg and fruit options this week, we also added ground beef and cheddar cheese from Whispering Breeze farm, and maple breakfast links from Harmony Springs. Please add to your share and taste the difference of good local meat and cheese!

As always, THANK YOU SO MUCH. You keep our farm going year after year and we are honored to grow and source good, local, safe food for you!

Be Healthy, Be Happy,

Farmer Ben
