Eat Well for Smoky Air Resilience

Posted on September 13th, 2020 by Katherine Nietmann

This may be preaching to the choir, as you all are already committed to eating well!  We can't however stress enough the importance of your diet in your body's overall resilience to poor air quality.  No, we're not MDs, but we do know that we have what you need to give your body its best defense.

Fresh, fruits and vegetables, raw or cooked, especially when organic and local, are chock full of antioxidants, phytonutrients, and energy-boosting vitamins and fiber.  By eating them every day (and preferably with every meal), you will build up your body's defenses which will help you breathe easier and help your immune system cope even when it's bombarded from all sides with viruses and poor air quality.  Try out a new-to-you recipe from our collection (we have more on our website!) or just increase your vegetable intake.  Your body will thank you.

Enjoy the produce this week, and load up!  Feel free to order extras to increase your weekly vegetable intake.  Spaghetti squash makes its debut, and baby bok choi is back!
