Night Market is back on August 25th, 2022!!

Have you heard of the Night Market at the Memorial Centre Farmers' Market? It is an evening event originally started with Loving Spoonful as a fundraiser, and is a great summer evening out at the Memorial Centre grounds. This year there will be several guest vendors and vendors light up their booths for a fiesta vibe later evening. The Night Market runs 6-10pm August 25th. Come on out to see us there and get your dinner to eat on the lawn. If you can't make it to market on Sundays 9-2pm, this is a great time to get a taste of Kingston's 100% producer market, where the Farmers you meet grow the food you eat!

In the field we have been keeping the crops going with lots of watering and you'll see there are plenty of delicious beans and beets to be had again. This is our third crop of beans. If you don't gobble up all the beans fresh, butter beans (sauteed in a pan with some grease, and liberally salted) are a fabulous side dish. Beets add to any stew or curry, and can also be roasted to perfection.

This year we've added a second crop of summer squash (zucchini & patty pans) to our plantings, so we hope there will be an extended season of them this week, as the original plants are getting tired and not producing as much now. Speaking of zucchini & patty pans, we hope you enjoyed the special combo of them with beans as an item in your shares last week. Somehow we ended up with that odd combo in the system and decided to roll with it!

Happy eating and enjoy all your socializing!
