First news of June

Posted on June 6th, 2018 by Timothy Lyon

Dear urban farm share eaters. Some of you have had your first share, and others are anticipating theirs. Thanks for coming with us on this agricultural journey including Harvie! For bearing with us when your share was too small, the sign up process was confusing, the item you wanted wasn't in your share, there was a wait time at market to pick up your share, the sticker wasn't straight on your bag...

Which reminds us: please return your reusable bags on a weekly basis. Without them we cannot pack your next share!

On the farm we have been madly planting, seeding, weeding and watering to keep the food coming. Oh yeah, and harvesting for shares! This week we finalised getting our first high-tunnel up, installed drip irrigation, and filled it with tomatoes. We're hoping the extra work side-steps the blight and gives you a longer tomato season. We'll be inviting you out to the farm to see where your food is grown, look for that announcement. At that time we'll show you high and low tunnels, paperpot transplanter, seeding weeding and harvesting tools, and more.

We still have a few shares left, so please do share with anyone you think might like one.

Happy Eating!

Your urban farm family,

Tim, Tracy, Mialana, Micah & Zoe
