Happy 2022!

Posted on January 3rd, 2022 by Brittany Reardon

Happy New Year from all of us at Mad Radish! We're really excited about the fresh, new season of growing ahead of us. After a much-needed mini-vacation up in the mountains of northern PA we're ready to get to work preparing for the season. January typically finds us perusing through seed catalogs, pouring over spreadsheets, and reviewing numbers from previous months.

Cold winter temps that we're seeing now mean little to no growth for the crops we're harvesting for winter shares. When we get a warm sunny day, the greens seem to shoot up, but it takes a good bit of warmth for that to happen. Amazingly, there are still lots of greens in the field, and the late-planted winter carrots should be ready to harvest in a month or so. More tender greens like lettuce and arugula will make an appearance in shares in a couple of weeks. On the list this week is hardy spinach, which is sweet as ever.

If you have any questions about swapping items in and out of your share, or navigating Harvie in general, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
