Post-Solstice Farm News

Posted on June 25th, 2021 by Brittany Reardon

Now that the solstice is behind us, plants will begin to change their energy focus from leaves/stems/flowers to FRUIT! So that means that tomatoes, peppers and eggplants won't be long. The first Sungold (orange, super sweet) cherry tomatoes are beginning to ripen, and the Fairytale (miniature purple and white striped) eggplant are setting their first flowers. Peppers are always long-awaited and always fleeting, they only last a couple of months and then they're gone with fall's frost.

A couple of housekeeping items:

-- A few folks have asked about their payment plan. If you're wondering why your card was charged or have questions about swap charges, please send us an email at info@madradishfarm.com. If you're not sure what share you signed up for or what payment plan you chose, head over to the payment details page on your dashboard. You'll be able to see how much is still owed on your share and what exactly you should be receiving each week! Again, if you have questions please let us know.

-- If you have a delivered share, please remember to return your boxes (flattened!) to your site host! We very much appreciate this as we can reuse the boxes, and it saves on waste as the wax-coated produce boxes cannot be recycled.

-- If you pick up your share on farm and order extras, your item(s) will be labeled with your name either in the fridge, on the table, or in the freezer depending on what the item is.

-- If you pick up your share on farm, please refrain from driving down to the pick-up area. The main reason for this is that there are often farm vehicles / other vehicles that are coming and going, and it can get a bit congested with members' vehicles pulling in and backing up. That said, if this is an issue for anyone please let us know and we're happy to figure something out!

-- If you pick up on farm, don't forget to bring your bags, box or other container - or remind any folks who may be picking up your share in your place  to bring something to put veggies in. We always have bags available if you forget, though, so don't worry!

-- We're officially in summer vacation season, so here's your friendly reminder to put your share on hold for vacation by these times:

     - If you get your share on TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, or THURSDAY, please put your box on hold anytime before the FRIDAY prior to the day you'll be away

    - If you get your share on SATURDAY, please put your box on hold anytime before the MONDAY prior to the day you'll be away

Questions? We're happy to help :)
