Farm Happenings for the week of January 21, 2023

Posted on January 16th, 2023 by Jessica Foote

Hello All,

Not much is knew and exciting around the farm. Just starting to cut and split wood for next year and clean up the mess the June storm left in our bush. Three seed orders have arrived, strawberry slips are being ordered, organic certification will be started this week. Paperwork I love it! Not...

Nugget is due to have her baby, so could have the first calf of the year here at the farm, and next door the first two mares are due, so exciting!

Jessalynn and I did a road trip to Guelph to get her two Nigerian goats bred. She has people wanting some kids, and her and Abbie want to show again this year; which requires a dairy goat to be milking!

We started our Summer 2023 season marketing in December and are aiming for 250 shares, we never hit our goal last year, however this year we really are going to have to push hard to spread the word. Two of our biggest wholesale purchasers are not making any commitments, which is nerve wracking to say the least. But really I have always wanted to keep most of my focus on direct to consumer relationships, so here is the universe to stay true to your values!

We look forward to seeing you this week!

Cheers your farmer,

Jess
