Farm Happenings for the November 20, 2021

Posted on November 15th, 2021 by Jessica Foote

Well we were greeted with a light dusting of snow this morning, the first real sign of the winter to come! So exciting....

The root crops are harvested, and the field has for the most part been put to rest. Because of the mild weather we will still be sneaking kale, parsley and chard from the field this week! IT IS SO SWEET! Thanks to the cold.We will have have potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, beets, spinach, and much more available in your share this week! BE prepared for some squash soup! We have Butternut in abundance! And some #2 perfectly imperfect ones on offer at great discounts!

With On the to do list now is; completing fall clean up, seed orders, cutting & splitting wood, and conditioning the horses, and starting Selene on her training! That being said we are going to start offering sleigh/wagon rides end of November & on through the winter months. This years CSA members are getting a discount at 75$/family (limit 5 to 6 do to seating), instead of 100$. Call and book at 905-986-9612. It will be first come first serve and limited to 2 rides in a day! We will not be doing any Thursdays or Fridays that are before CSA pick up days! The rest can be scheduled around my availability!

Look forward to seeing you this week!

Your farmer, Jess
