Posted on August 22nd, 2019 by Jessica Foote

It is tomato & pepper season! This week will be the quart baskets of tomatoes in shares, mixed varieties and quart baskets of mixed varieties of hot peppers! There will be more watermelon the yield has been fantastic! We are enjoying the sweetness...

Not much is really new! The row cultivating and weeding is slowing down the last of the field transplants are in, and water lines are ran on all our winter crops! Go team! Let's cross our fingers and pray that it is just on time to see the leeks, onions, celery & celeriac flourish! Our cover crops of oats is being seed for the winter and there are a few more of those to follow as the summer plantings finish up! So excited to be organized enough this year to get almost all the cover crops in we wanted to..wow! You feel like a sustainable farmer that has met an important milestone! Never leave the soil bare when at all possible! And we are getting better every year. I have a course lined for the fall on improving soil health it such an interesting and undiscovered topic.

We will see you at pick ups!

Cheers, Jess
