The 2019 CSA Season Begins

Posted on June 7th, 2019 by Michael Moss

Wahoo! Our CSA Season is about to start. All of us at the farm look forward to this time of year. We have been planing, seeding, planting and weeding for more than 5 months to get to this point. We have nurtured soil, managed crops, trained staff and experienced many highs and lows along the way. The farm looks amazing, the plants are healthy and, most importantly, the food tastes great.

Over the next 20 weeks we will be sharing our passion for agriculture and amazing food with you. We'll have some fun and hope you will be able to visit the farm sometime during the season to see how your food is grown. Keep your eye out for farm event invitations.

So you know what's ahead of you we have almost completely planted out our fields with tasty items for your kitchen. Here is a smattering of what we have growing right now: Spring crops like chard, kale, cabbage, broccoli, herbs, carrots, chicories, lettuce, peas, beets, turnips, pac choi, kohlrabi and hon tsai tai. Summer crops like cucumbers, summer squash, peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, cantaloupes winter squash and melons growing well. Soon we will be planting out all of our fall cauliflowers, cabbages, broccoli and kales. It will be an amazing season of food.

Thank you for being a member of our farm. All of us at Kilt Farm hope you enjoy every bite!

Michael Moss, your kilted farmer.
