It's hard to believe, but the Summer Markets are over, and the Summer CSA deliveries are moving to the Winter - Spring deliveries in less than 2 weeks! I planted a lot of extra Romaine this year and my stock is over 1/3 depleted. With daylight below 11 hours, Icannot come close to closing the gap before January. It's too slow. My wife went price shopping for me in order to pinpoint the dramatic increase in demand. The very largest produce vendor on the west side towards Grand Ledge is charging more than Hillcrest Farms and the romaine product is dreadful. Also, no one has Boston Lettuce. Can anyone help me understand what is going on!?
I am at the Family Fare parking lot on Wednesday at 12:00 noon and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday I will be at the parking lot behind Flour Child Bakery in Grand Ledge from 11:00-12:00 noon.
