Farm Happening for Summer #4

Posted on July 2nd, 2021 by Mason Taggart

When Mason and I were brainstorming farm names, we knew we wanted the word 'family' in it because so much of our motivation behind this farm is to teach our children the values more inherent in rural lifestyles.  They don't necessarily appreciate this sacrifice yet, but we think they will someday... just as we look back and appreciate the lessons our parents were trying to teach us.  :)  That being said, we're striving to have our children work along side us as much as possible.  They help us a lot and as they're getting older, we're able to do more and more because of their increasing abilities.  That being said, however, as we're teaching them, we understand that sometimes things slip through the cracks and don't get done as ideally as we'd like.  And that can be said of Mason and I too, not just the kiddos.  So, the point us, if you find a piece of produce or anything less than satisfactory, please don't hesitate to let us know!  We won't take it personally and we will gladly remedy the problem. :)

This week, we continue to wait on the summer crops to ripen...  While we wait we have more of Mason's Raspberry Vinaigrette which you guys have been loving, plus more Pink Pickled Turnips (who knew that turnips were so yummy?!), and NEW this week we have Garlic Kale Hummus Dip.  We have soooo much kale out there... :)  But this dip is DELICIOUS, one of favorite hummus variations, and it's great with chips, or veggies, or as a sandwich spread.
