Summer Week 4 and we're waiting on the heat!

Posted on June 13th, 2019 by Mason Taggart

I never thought I would ever say that I'm ready for it to get hot but I just might be.  The cooler temperatures have been nice on one hand, but we're definitely noticing a difference in the speed of growth of our warm-loving crops like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, etc.  Even our carrots took a month to germinate this spring because everything was so cold; they're now growing steadily and we're hoping for carrots (baby carrots, at least) in a couple of weeks, just FYI.  We hope you all can make it out to our CSA Family Potluck this Saturday from 5 - 7p.m.  Boot Hill Farm will be grilling up some chicken for all of us to enjoy.  Then you can come out to the garden and check the progress of the plants yourself and hopefully give them some love and good vibes so they'll speed up, just a bit.  See ya soon!
