Farm Happenings for November 12, 2020

Posted on November 10th, 2020 by Brendan Prewitt

Well, that was some nice weather, huh? Not a bad way to lead into the final week of deliveries. It was just the break in the weather that we were waiting for to try to get things wrapped up around here for the season. Lots of to-do list items got checked off the list in the past week. For once, it finally looks to be shrinking in size to an almost manageable level.

After lots of mowing and rototilling the fields are pretty well cleaned up for the season, and we finally shut off the greenhouse, so it's definitely coming to a close! We're waiting for a nice calm day to get the new hoophouse sheeted with plastic and then that'll be pretty well wrapped up so we can move onto finishing the smaller ones (still waiting on a delivery with the parts we need to keep building) before it gets too cold.

We got our first eggs this past Tuesday, so it'll just be a matter of time until we have them available - it take a few weeks for them to get sized up and in full production, but they're a little earlier than the last time we raised this breed, so nothing to complain about there!

We'll be sending out an email in the next week with details on how you can continue to get your veggies until we run out for the season. We're also putting the final touches on our plan for next season, so keep an eye out for that - lots of things will be changing, all of them for the better (or at least we think so)!

Thanks again for joining us this season and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
