Gravel Road Farm News JULY 2nd, 2021

Posted on July 2nd, 2021 by Brigid Ferkett

Farm Update: The vegetables and flower fields look great. The weeds are trying to make a comeback after all the beautiful rain, but we are keeping them contained. Sunflowers will be making a big show tomorrow!

In addition to finding flowers at the market, our bouquet CSA will start on July 13th and go for 8 weeks. We deliver a seasonal bouquet along with your vegetable box or alone in a miniature wooden crate. We exchange the box each week with a new one. There are a few spots left if you are still considering joining. Click here to sign up.

SAVE THE DATE! Flower Bar- August 15th-Articipation Week Kick Off.

Make your own bouquet, kids and family are welcome!

We are excited about the rest of the season. Certain crops are thriving, like our onions and our peppers. They love the rain followed by hot weather. We put straw mulch around all of our peppers and tomato plants to help keep the roots moist and insulated, block weeds, and keep the plants clean from the splashing rain. Keeping them clean helps prevent the spread of diseases.

We are at the Waupaca Farm Market every Saturday located on Fulton Street across from Kwik Trip in the old Midtown Motors lot. We have two white tents together with space underneath for shade. 9-1pm

See you at the market!
