Farm Happenings for July 8, 2020

Posted on July 5th, 2020 by Claudia Frey

Good morning everyone, we hope you all had a wonderful 4th!  Last week we were notified by a customer that her mesculun mix had more than one or two clovers in it, and some other thatch of some sort.  I can only assume that anyone who received the mesculun mix this week may have had the same issue.  We are sorry.  We work hard to bring you quality product, and the mix this week was not of high quality.  We are turning these two beds to make way for another crop, and we will due more diligence to ensure that the veggies are of the best quality we have to offer!  Please accept our sincere apology for the lack of quality in the mesculun mix this past week. To replace this spot, we are purchasing some beets from Four Elements to round out your shares.  We will have beets soon, but they are still forming.

This week we will continue to rotate strawberries into your shares as they ripen.  If you did not receive strawberries last week, look for them this week.  We will also continue to rotate in the sprouting broccoli and newly ripening azure star kohlrabi.

It sounds like members are navigating Harvie with only a few issues.  If you are not going to be able to pick up for one of your deliveries, you can place the delivery on hold.  If you choose Change My Delivery Date, you can select when you would like to pick it up.  You can pick up two shares the next week, or set another day that works for you.

We have Creekside Soaps in Add Ons this week, offering the Forest Aire, Lavender Cocoa Butter, and Dish Soap bars; as well as Four Cedars Honey.

Cherry Tomatoes are forming!  First up look like Indigo Rose, purple with pink interiors.  Not ripe yet, but it won't be long!  Also, if all grows well, baby carrots will be in next week's shares!

Take care everyone!  We know you can chose to buy your veggies from many other places.  We are so glad you choose us.  We will work to honor your support!
