Farm Happenings for July 1, 2020

Posted on June 28th, 2020 by Claudia Frey

Good morning and happy week of the 4th everyone!

In this weeks shares, we are starting in to several crops, but not enough of each for all shares.  Strawberries just started ripening, and we have some sprouting broccoli coming on. We will rotate these in to your shares over the next two weeks.  If you did not get some of one this week, you will get some next week! These are in addition to the share listings.

We have honey, Forest Fae soap, dish soap, and new this week Lavendar Cocoa Butter Soap.  The Lavender soap bars are 4-5.5 oz and are offered at $5.50. If you would like the add-ons, please add them to your cart for the week.

We are growing closer to having peas for shares, and carrots just need to get a little bigger before they are ready as baby carrots.

Our buttercrunch lettuce is coming your way this week.  Because it is fragile and we have to pack in paper sacks, we will most likely have to use plastic clam shells to get them to you without being crushed.  We look forward to being able to go back to wax boxes so that vegetables have plenty of space to be happy, and we do not have to use as much plastic. For the same reasons, the strawberry 1/2 pints need to be plastic and lidded this year.  We hope next year brings a return to containers that can be sanitized and re-used.

As always, please email us if you have any questions or concerns. farmer@freyfamilyfarm.net

Have a wonderful week,and happy 4th!

Claudia
