It's finally here!! Your first boxes of 2023

Posted on May 7th, 2023 by Teresa Kurtak

Hi Everyone,

We're so excited to be finally packing our first Produce Share boxes of 2023.  There are finally a few red strawberries here and there in the strawberry field, so although there aren't any this week, they're coming soon!  Also, by next week our sugar snap peas should be ready for the first big harvest.  Everything is growing so fast that after a few days away this week I felt like I had gone into some sort of time warp. The orchards are buzzing with happy bees and the trees are decked out in frilly blossoms.  I'm writing right now to the humming chorus of frogs, who really didn't mind all the flooding and rain this Winter.

This week we've decided to offer all of our farm preserves and dry beans as options to swap into your boxes instead of putting them in the "Extras" section.  So, if you aren't seeing what you like in your box, don't forget to customize and check out the items available as well as what is in the Extras section.  This week we'll be delivering pastured chicken and pork from our neighbors Root Down Farm. Next week will be a Markegard Family Grassfed beef week), so stock up on pastured chicken.  Also new to our offerings is bread from Companion Bakeshop in Santa Cruz.

When you pick up, please remember to:

1. check to make sure you have ALL your order.  Larger orders may end up with 2 labels and 2 boxes. We do our best to keep those boxes together, but they do get separated sometimes.

2. remove the contents of your box, but leave the grey bin (they are very expensive to replace and we need them back to have enough to keep packing your shares)

3. If you have any of our reusable mesh bags that you didn't manage to return last year, you can drop them off in the labeled bin so we can get them back into circulation
