Hope you've all had a great week. We recently invited our Marketeers over for a chance to visit the farm. This was an opportunity to learn more about organic farming, and talk about best practices of COVID-19 while out at markets and also when on-site. It was so nice to have visitors around the farm and we look forward to the day when you all can come by and see where your food comes from. Until then, we want to make you feel a part of this as much as possible. It's a real treat for us to see some of you quite regularly at farmers' market. We love hearing about your recipes as well as sharing ours. If you haven't had a chance to stop by, it makes for a nice outing in open air. Please stay safe everyone and be considerate of those around you. We're all in this together.

DRY BEANS: We used to put a variety of beans in CSA boxes the last week of each month.  With the new system we struggled a bit with the best way to offer beans.  We will be offering one variety the last week of each month in the box.  The rest of each month it will be available as a swap item (seems like a good way to fill your $30 if you feel overwhelmed with too many veggies any given week).  The variety will change monthly (unless we run out ofcourse ;)  ).  July has been Old Indian Woman Beans.  Next month we will likely do True Cranberry.  You can always purchase beans as extras, ofcourse.

What to look forward to in your boxes :

Tomatoes are growing like weeds and some have green sets.  We picked out first flat of cherry tomatoes last week (not many, but we will save them for you all...) Canteloupes are swelling and getting bigger, but are a few weeks away.  We also picked 3-5 crates of Pristine apples.. which we will but in the boxes this week as well, but there's not that many.

HINT: If you really want to make sure you get something in your box, make sure that the item is listed with a greater preference than anything else.  If you list everything as a 5, the system basically views it sort of like you have no preferences. PS you can easily vary your preferences week to week to "game" the system and prioritize what you want each week.
