Farm Happenings for the Week of May 18th

Posted on May 13th, 2020 by Ashley Robertson

Greetings Farm Fans!

Welcome to week one of our main summer season!  I am so excited about the journey that we are going on together!  We are fully entrenched in the days of asparagus and green garlic.  Soon we will head into root vegetables and early squash, tomatoes and peppers followed by corn and melons!  What a year it is going to be!

Lots of things are happening in this first week!  For those of you who are returning customers--we are so happy to have you back!  For all of our new customers, Welcome!

Some important info:  we ask that you bring a reusable grocery bag with you to pickup your produce.  If you forget a bag it is okay to take your box home with you, we just ask that you return the empty box at your next pickup.  Please be respectful of our delivery site hosts and observe their pickup hours and site rules.

**Meat Customers**  We are delivering your first beef shares this week!  Beef can be transferred into the accompanying bag and coolers can be left on site.  If you do take your beef home in the cooler, please return it at your next box pickup.

CHANGES IN PICKUP LOCATIONS

Things have been reasonably uncertain over the last few weeks!  At Great Basin Basket Farm Share we continued to accept subscriptions at ALL of the locations that have historically offered.  HOWEVER - for the first few weeks of the season, we are anticipating that some accommodations need to be made in order to maintain a safe system for our subscribers.

If you are a subscriber at Washoe County School District or Renown Reno, please choose an alternate pickup location for the time being.  We will let you know when these locations are available again!

If you have signed up to pickup your box at Battle Born Wine - we are working on an alternate location in Gardnerville for your box.  We may ask you to choose an alternate location from one of our established sites (Carson City, Reno, Sparks, Fallon, etc) but are doing what we can to find an option in Gardnerville - please stay tuned!

Thank you for your understanding - we will continue to keep you informed about changes to delivery locations as they become available to us.

Hope this email finds you safe, healthy, and sane!

Thank you for your support of Nevada Farmers!
