Farm Happenings for November 24, 2021

Posted on November 18th, 2021 by Sarah Brown

Hello Farm Friends!

There has been much meal planning in our household this week. We're looking forward to some relaxing (?) time, enjoying the seasonal bounty with friends and family. With the mild Fall and minimal frosts, there has been A LOT of bonus growth in the fields this November. While we've said goodbye to lettuce for the year, we're so stoked to be enjoying roasted Brussel Sprouts and root roasts galore.

We wanted to catch you all before your meal plans are solidified, in the hopes that we could be a part of your holiday celebrations this year. We're packing Thanksgiving boxes, for delivery next Wednesday the 24th at Silver Falls Bread Shop in Silverton. Boxes will arrive by 10am, and be labeled with your name and contents. For those of you closer to the farm, we are also offering an On Farm pickup option. And, just in case you need to stock up on bread for the holiday, you can order your hand-made sourdough specialty loaf from Silver Falls Bread Co. here, beginning the afternoon of the 20th. Get your veggies and bread in one place!

I've made large quantities available for most bulk items, so while there is a minimum order requirement, we hope you will add all the extras you need. There are also small quantities of herbs (parsley and cilantro) as well as the last of our Brussel sprouts and Hakurei Turnips. Order early if you want to have the most selection. For the pie lovers out there, in addition to our regular offering of Butternut and Spaghetti squash we have a few dozen Kabocha available. Kabocha have the most decadently sweet, dry, deep orange flesh, perfect for your favorite pumpkin pie recipes.

We will be at market tomorrow, Saturday the 20th, if you'd like to come take a look at what's on offer, or do your shopping in person. Adam has been doing a lovely job keeping the booth looking beautiful and bountiful this Fall.

If you have any questions about placing a Farm Stand order, or if you are looking for something you don't see on the list, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you all for eating with us throughout the year, and we hope you have a peaceful and restful holiday.

Warmly,

Conner + Sarah
