Baer's Best Beans at Lover's Brook Farm

Baer's Best Beans has been producing dry beans for 35 years. During this time they've collected many unique heirloom varieties from the New England area and now grow 20 kinds of beans every year. Beans are hand graded for top quality, and are fresh crop that cook quickly without presoaking.

Heritage Hog Pork Pack

Daybreak Growers Alliance has been working with the butchers at A Small Good to put together a pork share. This pork comes from happy gmo-free crossed heritage breed hogs raised in Monmouth, Maine with continual access to fresh air and plenty of room to muck around.

This pack is the result of considering how to most efficiently utilize the whole hog, reducing waste and keeping down cost down for the farmer, a small good, us and you! Additionally, we selected frequently used and versatile cuts to ensure you have lots of culinary options with your pork cuts.

Pork Share $49.50: 1lb breakfast ground sausage; 1lb italian ground sausage; 1lb garlic ground sausage; 1 pack 2ct pork chops (avg. 1.5lb/pk); 1 x10oz bacon; 1 quart pork consume broth

Update from Winter Hill Farm

Here we are, mid-way through March, and as the day length grows, so does our daily to-do list! We are deep in the thick of seeding and tending to baby flowers in the greenhouse and getting the hoop houses ready to plant. We are making sure all the cows and pigs still have warm, clean spaces as the thaw continues to make muddy messes elsewhere on the farm! We are stockpiling aged cheeses for the busy season while still continuing to make the more perishable cheeses on a regular rotation. Recently we have also experimented with a new cheese, and can't wait to have it available to cheese lovers sometime this summer.

We are so thankful for Daybreak, and to all of you out there supporting your local farms. We are so excited to be a part of this amazing network of farmers, and to be able to make cheese for you~ Feel free to swing by the farm if you ever find yourself in Freeport, we would love to meet you in person and you can visit our 'nursery' barn to give some love to the baby cows and piglets!
