Meet Kennebec Cheesery
Jean and Peter Koons are the darling dairy duo behind Kennebec Cheesery in Sidney, Maine. They met in New Zealand, Jean’s homeland, and eventually returned to Peter’s childhood home farm to combine their knowledge and skills in stewarding this historic piece of farmland on the banks of Messalonskee Lake. In their solar-powered creamery, they make world-class cheeses with milk from their herd of Alpine and Saanen goats, as well as organic Jersey cow milk from Woodside Farm.
