Farm Happenings 11/1/21: Eggnog is here! / Farm & Butcher Boxes for 2022 / Update from O'Meara Family Farm

Posted on October 26th, 2021 by Daybreak Growers Alliance

Hello Farm Share friends,

'Tis the season for Milkhouse Eggnog . . . and apples, and apple cider, and winter squash, and cheese, and roasted chicken . . . and all the other fall favorites!

We hope you're enjoying the abundance of the amazing harvest this season. Customize your boxes and choose your favorite vegetables and check out the variety of other Maine groceries we have available. As we move into the cooler weather and start cooking more hardy meals your Daybreak Farm Box can provide you with all the needed ingredients for your favorites, or challenge yourself to create meals with ALL local Maine ingredients!

A quick update on our seasonal order cycles. Our current Main Season is set-up with deliveries scheduled in your account through the end of 2021 (December 22 is our last delivery day of 2021). In 2022 we’ll be delivering Farm & Butcher Boxes to all sites weekly all year long! Sometime at the beginning of November we’ll start the 2022 auto-renew process on orders - don’t worry we’ll give you plenty of notice and instructions as we get closer - at this time you'll be able to make changes to your subscription for 2022. With our current box subscription model and the option for unlimited “Skips” on box deliveries, when we renew we'll schedule deliveries for the entire year of 2022, January-December. If you're a seasonal member you can turn off auto-renew in your account and then sign up when you're ready to start deliveries in the spring. More to come soon . . .

Update from O'Meara Family Farm

Fall has arrived in Aroostook County. It has been unusually warm. On O'Meara Family Farm we are finishing up our potato harvest and gathering up all the round bales of hay we grew this summer. The cows are happy after a good season of grazing. This week we will combine the last of the grain and get ready for winter.
