Posted on October 18th, 2021 by Daybreak Growers Alliance

Hello Farm Share friends,

We hope you're enjoying the abundance of the amazing harvest this season! Customize your boxes and choose your favorite vegetables and check out the variety of other Maine groceries we have available. As we move into the cooler weather and start cooking more hardy meals your Daybreak Farm Box can provide you with all the needed ingredients for your favorites, or challenge yourself to create meals with ALL local Maine ingredients!

A quick update on our seasonal order cycles. Our current Main Season is set-up with deliveries scheduled in your account through the end of 2021 (December 22 is our last delivery day of 2021). In 2022 we’ll be delivering Farm & Butcher Boxes to all sites weekly all year long! Sometime at the beginning of November we’ll start the 2022 auto-renew process on orders - don’t worry we’ll give you plenty of notice and instructions as we get closer - at this time you'll be able to make changes to your subscription for 2022. With our current box subscription model and the option for unlimited “Skips” on box deliveries, when we renew we'll schedule deliveries for the entire year of 2022, January-December. If you're a seasonal member you can turn off auto-renew in your account and then sign up when you're ready to start deliveries in the spring. More to come soon . . .

Update from Seven Moon Farm

It's been a great first season here at Seven Moon Farm – both the successes, as well as the failures, have been ripe with opportunities for growth and learning as a farmer. I am excited to get started planning for next year, though admittedly I am currently more excited to get some rest. The week's forecast is littered with potential frosts here in South Montville, and so my dreams of sleeping in and cozy afternoons with hot beverages seem tantalizingly close. Until that sweet day, though, there is plenty of work to be getting on with in the fields. On the to-do list for the week: getting the fall carrots harvested, sorting and breaking garlic for seed, and bulk harvesting field peppers, and hanging herbs to dry for winter. We'll see how far we get! Cheers to fall folks!
