Farm Happenings for September 7, 2023

Posted on September 4th, 2023 by Grady Seale

Well we didn't get any rain over the weekend, hoping we see a little bit today or tomorrow. I took the picture last year on Oct 19th of our Fall tomatoes, they we so tall! I'm 6'-1" and they towered over me, I hope I can get this years crop to that point, as for now they are only about 3 feet tall. I know the high heat days aren't helping them much but I think they are doing great. We will be planting our garlic seed in a few weeks, which is always an eye opener for me because that means its almost Fall. Garlic seed will overwinter and start popping up in January/February to be harvested in the Spring. Its one of my favorites to plant, mainly because its what I call bulletproof, which basically means its easy to grow and doesn't take a lot of attention! Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.
