Farm Happenings for February 1, 2024

Posted on January 29th, 2024 by Grady Seale

We got a ton of rain last week, roads were flooded and it was a muddy muddy mess. Out of all the current growing crops, the strawberry plants took it the hardest for sure, I walked through them this morning and couldn't find one single strawberry worth picking. As you can kinda tell in the picture we had to go through them all and clean up the plants by tossing all the bad berries in the middles. The worse part is this has happened to all berry farmers in our area, which means we aren't going to have them for a brief while. I am hoping with these sunny days they will bounce back quickly though. I am finishing up the Spring farm plan and ordering seeds this week, seems like the Fall/Winter has flown by but I can't wait for some awesome Spring weather and planting some of my favorite things to grow. It will be here before ya know it!
