Farm Happenings for January 25, 2024

Posted on January 22nd, 2024 by Grady Seale

Well the weather that was projected was spot on for us at the farm, we got down to 19 degrees the first night, and then 15 degrees the following night. Thankfully we had some rain before the 19 degrees that first night, that actually insulated the plants that we weren't able to cover. Everything looked way better than I expected after it finally warmed up. even though we did get some burn damage on a few plants and most of my eucalyptus. The picture is some Rainbow chard that was actually covered, but if the covers(agribond) is touching any part of the foliage, it will burn that particular part. We go through and clean up the burned leaves so the plants can start growing back but it does take some time with less sunshine and colder temps. Strawberries did great through it and are loving the warmer air this week!
