Another artic blast for us to deal with is on the way, with projected temps to hit 16 degrees we have been doing all we can to prep for it. It is gonna be a tough week for sure, especially with another cold front to hit us by the weekend. We picked a good bit of stuff over the weekend and now we are draining pipes and covering up all the plants we can, in hopes that they will survive. We could see some rain/snow as well, which in the past I have seen where that actually protects some of the plants and acts like an insulator. We will have to wait and see, fingers crossed and I hope everyone stays safe and warm!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
