Summer squash has arrived and it is beautiful, cucumbers won't be far behind as they are looking good and starting to fruit. These temperatures have been crazy on the farm, from 83 degrees for a high and then down to 41 for the low, luckily we haven't seen any frost. Strawberries have slowed down again and we are still waiting for the first blueberries to become ready, hoping we can offer both of them soon. We got a good bit of rain over the weekend but we are back in the fields today harvesting and tying up tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. Enjoying this nice sunny weather while it last!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
