Tomatoes are looking good and growing well, I am craving a BLT every time I go out in the field to check on them. Even though we are still a good ways out, I get excited about tomatoes every Spring. Okra will be going in the ground this week, along with some watermelons and cantaloupes! We are pulling one plot of our early strawberries as they have done their job and produced about all they can, hoping the other plots keep producing for at least 3-4 more weeks. I hope everyone had a good Easter and Spring Break, more to come from the fields as we push forward. Thanks for supporting local!!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
