We got some fresh white plastic mulch down and I love the way it looks when we first lay it. I also know that it means the heat is coming, which is something these spring/summer plants need but boy have the cooler Spring days been nice! We got more peppers planted last week, along with some watermelons (supposed to be smaller so I can include in boxes but we will see) and also some cantaloupes planted as well. Still waiting on some warmer weather for blueberries to start ripening, I checked them this morning and they are still green. I spoke with one of our peach farmers in Alabama last week as well and he is saying the peaches are getting close but also still a bit green, hoping we have a better year for those than last. I think we should see some cucumbers in the next few weeks, which I am definitely ready for!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
