Farm Happenings for September 18, 2018

Posted on September 17th, 2018 by Daniel Chappell

It's been a pretty crazy few weeks on the farm since I wrote an update here.

The weather has become pretty unpleasant with one night last week hitting -4C for us and freezing out a few crops that are usually almost guaranteed to be good for the last few deliveries of the summer share! I did manage to get all the spaghetti and acorn squashes in, and managed a few little pumpkins that you'll be seeing in the last delivery right before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately zucchini's are gone, my second planting of peas didn't get to finish and lettuce will be hit and miss for the rest of the season. There's still lots of good produce in the fields though, and the last three weeks of the share should be great!

There are some big changes coming on the farm, which I've talked with some of you about over the past few weeks. For those of you who I have not spoken too, I will be sending out a full email announcement sometime over the course of the next week.
